Municipal Assembly awarded the "October Prize" and the "Charter of Herceg-Novi," in recognition of extraordinary achievements and the highest achievements in the fields of economy, social and other activities. (Statute of the Municipality of Herceg-Novi)
The October award is given to natural and legal persons residing or registered office in the municipality of Herceg-Novi. The Charter of Herceg-Novi is awarded an honorary citizen, or persons who are particularly responsible for the development and promotion of the city or have their life and work in any other way related to Herceg-Novi. The prize can be awarded to individuals who do not live in Herceg Novi, where their achievements are of particular significant for this city. (The decision to award the Municipality of Herceg-Novi)
October Award and the Charter of Herceg-Novi are awarded each year on 28 October, in memory of the day when in 1944 the Tenth Herzegovina, Second and First Dalmatian Brigade liberated Boka Herceg-Novi from the fascist occupiers.
